Design and installation of TES
A luxurious residence on the shores of the Odessa coast will present you an unforgettable vacation and the most original photographs. This place was created in order to amaze with its unusual architecture and grandeur. The parametric architecture of buildings, which has become a standard for the whole world, is still an innovation for Ukraine. The buildings in KANDINSKY Odessa Residence are heterogeneous, each floor is unique and displaced along the previous one in several layers. Naturally, the construction of such an object entailed certain difficulties.
Our team had to solve two important tasks: installation of window systems and external facade fencing. The architecture of the building excluded the use of standard technologies. There was no universal system with which it would be possible to implement the original facade concept. The system of translucent enclosing structures (TES), the so-called transom-post facade system, could not be used due to the displacement of the floors. It was also impossible to apply the windowing system in its pure form. In the process of searching for a solution to this problem, we came up with the idea of combining the above technologies.
At this stage, another nuance arose - in the vertical, the racks had to be located at the same level, create a continuous line and provide a harmonious aesthetic appearance. To make everything look holistic in the end, we had to design the placement of the racks separately for each floor. The frame was ordered individually for a specific floor and even for a specific room. Each rack was measured and calculated. In addition, it was necessary to take into account a number of features of this project. The first feature is the increased load on the building during stormy winds. In order for a house with panoramic windows to be comfortable at any time of the year, reliable protection must be provided. During slanting rain, a leak may occur between the cracks in the joints of the facades, which is important to exclude at the first stages of construction. Our residents will definitely be able to avoid the sad experience of nearby houses residents, whose developers did not take into account these nuances, which is why the apartments are regularly flooded during the rain.
The second feature is the strength of the racks and facades as a whole, taking into account the mutual influence of buildings, their height and the large size of double-glazed windows, you need to remember about the high windage. The load on the rack at the façade corners is 1000 MPa (megapascal), in its central part - 600 MPa. Another parameter - the rack must have resistance to heat transfer - to keep the room as warm as possible in cold weather, and in summer to prevent heat from permeating and increase the temperature inside the building.
The third feature is the huge area of enclosing structures. They encircle the entire building, therefore, their installation takes a lot of time and labor. In addition to aesthetic purpose, fences should be as functional as possible: in summer, protect the building from overheating, and in winter keep warm inside the premises. This is one of the main principles of the "passive house", which we were guided by when selecting materials.
